The Chedi Hegra

The Chedi Hegra is located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site Hegra in AlUla. Nestled in the majestic desert landscape of the northwest of the country, the resort is situated on the grounds of the historic Hegra train station, a significant hub along the ancient incense route. The design of the resort, developed by the Milanese architectural firm Giò Forma, seamlessly combines historical elements with modern luxury. A central architectural highlight is the 700-meter long "Shadow Canopy", an artistic structure that unites historical railway tracks with contemporary design, creating a space for reflection and exploration. The resort's 35 rooms, suites, and villas have been integrated into existing buildings and preserve original stone walls as well as other historical features. Through the harmonious connection of past and present, The Chedi Hegra offers its guests a unique experience that combines cultural heritage with modern comfort.

Location

The Chedi Hegra is located in the midst of the breathtaking desert landscape of AlUla, right in the UNESCO World Heritage site Hegra – the first World Heritage site in Saudi Arabia. The location is unique: surrounded by monumental rock tombs of the Nabataeans from the 1st century AD, the resort offers direct access to one of the most significant archaeological sites in the Arab world. Hegra was once a central trading post along the incense route and today stands as a fascinating testimony to ancient architecture and cultural history.
