Cairo – Kickoff between pyramids and bazaars
In Cairo, you will find the concentrated history of Ancient Egypt: from the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx to the treasures of the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum. The program is complemented by a stroll through Islamic Cairo and the bustling Khan El-Khalili bazaar, as well as through the modern business districts of Gezira Island. This way, you experience the capital in all its cultural diversity, before heading out into the desert.
Siwa – Salt lakes, sea of sand and starry sky
After an impressive drive through the western desert, one of the most remote and original oases of Egypt awaits you in Siwa. Here you can bathe in salt lakes and the Cleopatra spring, experience the sunset over Fitnas Island, and on a 4x4 desert safari through the sea of sand, reach millions of years old fossils. The old town of Shali is perfect for a walk, and the historic Oracle Temple of Alexander the Great rounds off the insight into this unique world.
Cairo – Conclusion before the return journey
After the eventful days in the desert, the journey takes you back to Cairo, where you will spend your last night before the return flight. If you leave the desert early in the morning, a stroll through the bustling streets of Cairo or dinner on one of the many beautiful rooftop terraces overlooking the Nile is also worthwhile. Thus, the journey ends in peace before going back home the next day.
