01 Essaouira

Arrival in Marrakech and drive to Essaouira

Welcome to Morocco! After your arrival in Marrakech, a private driver will take you directly to the charming coastal town of Essaouira, known for its white and blue houses, also referred to as the “White City on the Atlantic.” The name “Essaouira” means “the Enclosed” – a reference to the well-preserved city wall that surrounds the historic center. The relaxed atmosphere and quiet maze of streets invite you to take a leisurely stroll. Unlike the bustling Marrakech, here you will encounter friendly market vendors, oriental spice aromas, and cozy street cafés. The town is wonderfully explored on foot. An excursion to the small harbor outside the city wall is worthwhile: Fishermen still mend their nets by hand there, and traditional wooden boats provide a picturesque photo opportunity.

The European influences are undeniable, but at the same time, the oriental beauty remains. Here, the tradition of Morocco meets European modernity. To get to know this colorful and multicultural city better, you will embark on a tour today. After a stop at the central market, we proceed along the miles-long corniche, past lively beaches towards the city's landmark – the grand Hassan II Mosque.
