Beirut between Avant-Garde and old town charm

Day 1: Arriving in Beirut, you will be greeted by a private driver. Your tour starts at the charming Hotel Albergo, an elegant boutique hotel in the heart of Beirut. On a guided walk through the creative neighborhood of Gemmayzeh, you will discover the city's vibrant art scene, including galleries showcasing contemporary Lebanese art and the renowned Sursock Museum. Dinner marks the culinary beginning of your gourmet journey in a traditional Armenian-Lebanese restaurant, before ending the day with a stroll along the Corniche overlooking the famous Pigeon Rocks.

Day 2: The capital of Lebanon bears the scars of the civil war of the 1980s. Yet, or perhaps precisely because of that, Beirut is modern, young, and full of a spirit of renewal. Construction is underway in many areas, entire districts are being renovated, and elegant shopping streets shake off the dust. A true “Beiruti” will guide you through his city on the second day of your trip. You will further explore the capital's culinary scene in a popular restaurant with a typical Lebanese lunch.

Day 3: With Souq al Tayeb (the Good Market), you will visit a weekly market where local farmers sell traditionally grown vegetables, fruits, and flowers. At the restaurant “Tawlet Beirut” (Beirut's dining table), guest chefs tell the story of their hometown in a culinary way. After a fortified lunch, you will see the archaeological sites of the 7000-year-old urban settlement of Byblos.

Ancient Roman ruins with grand stone columns and steps in Baalbek, Lebanon.
A panoramic view from a terrace with a swimming pool overlooking a hilly landscape at sunset.
A large cedar tree growing on a hillside with a dirt path and a stone wall nearby, under a bright blue sky with some clouds.

In the shadow of the cedars – Experiencing history

Day 4: Today you will take a drive over the Lebanon Mountains and through the Bekaa Valley to see the gigantic temple complexes of Baalbek, the country's most important archaeological site and part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The appetizer selection will be tasted in the provincial capital Zahle. In Anjar, you will gain insight into the splendor of the Umayyad dynasty, which also shaped Andalusia. The day concludes with a visit to the famous winery in Ksara, including a wine tasting. For the night, you will head to the charming Mir Amin Palace, about an hour's drive from Ksara in the Chouf Mountains.

Day 5: The Chouf Mountains are not only scenically beautiful but have also played an important role in the country's history. For centuries, the majority of the population here has been Druze, an Islamic community with significant political importance, surrounded by a mysterious aura. You will visit the magnificent Beiteddine Palace with its intricate mosaics and gain insights into the spiritual and ecological symbolism of this national tree during a hike through the majestic cedar forests. In the afternoon, you will prepare your dinner in a private cooking class.

A scenic view of a seaside villa with arches, a terrace, and a boat docked nearby on the calm blue waters.
Night view of the Beirut marina with numerous yachts and illuminated modern buildings in the background.
A balcony with two striped chairs and a small round table overlooking a marina and cityscape in Beirut at sunset.

Day 6: Back in Beirut, enjoy your last night at the established InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut, a symbol of Lebanese glamour. The conclusion of your trip features a stylish dinner with live music and Lebanese mezes on the rooftop terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. Do you wish you could stay a little longer and indulge further in culinary delights? Extend your trip by a few days and enjoy a relaxing stay on the coast of Beirut. We would be happy to tailor your journey to your individual wishes and work out an exciting program for you. How about a relaxing beach stay as a crowning finale of your tour?
